Errands, cleaning, haircuts for Luke and I, packing for next week, AND:
Sorry, Matt! Celebrity Apprentice starts on Sunday night and I will be watching. Matt is not a fan of The Donald, to put it mildly. Have a great weekend, everyone!
The sun is out right now and I hope it stays out until the kids wake up from their naps so we can go outside for the first time all week. I think we are all a little vitamin D deprived right now.
Speaking of my "can you be my valentine" post below, check out these vintage valentines. I love all the cheesy puns. I think these are way better than today's valentines.
Last night we had dinner in Emeryville, then stopped in to a place called the Teacake Bake Shop, where I discovered the most delicious cupcakes EVER! They were so good that I bought two for a friend and one more for me to take home. I meant to save it for today, but I could not stop thinking about the dang thing, and about an hour after getting home I ate it. Soooo good, but definitely the kind of thing you only need one of. I am bringing my family here next time they visit!
Major recycling trip this morning. Luke is becoming quite the sorter. The man that runs the recycling stand gave Luke a behind the scenes tour of the compactor and showed him all the "cubes" of squished cans. Afterwards, we went to the grocery store. We bought some Valentine candy to make treat boxes for the babysitters at the gym AND for the recycling guy (Luke's request). I guess he stole Luke's heart with the trash compactor. Maybe we should make him a card, too. It could say, "CAN you be my Valentine?"
We're off to the eye doctor this afternoon, then to Pixar as a reward. Luke is super jazzed to see Daddy's new office. All morning he kept asking me, "Are you sure today's the day?" Cute.
I am posting this picture again because I noticed Luke's new cord roller in the background. He "has been needing one for a long time." Here are the stats: -20 foot retractable cord w/ 3 prongs -4 outlets (thus, the 2 lamps and 2 strands of Christmas lights next to it) -convenient carrying handle -Light up on/off switch -extremely durable...proven when Lance stuck two Wheat Thins in it yesterday and the cord still retracted, smooth as ever.
Welcome to Tunnelville, where Luke is the mayor and Lance has to stand outside! Don't feel too sorry for Lance, he had a few opportunities to go inside but couldn't quite muster up the courage. He still had a ball, though!
We're headed to Disneyland March 4-7. We have approval from Luke. He said he would go as long as he doesn't have to ride the tram, which he claims was the reason he didn't like Disneyland last time. I have already started saying my prayers that this will be a fun Disney experience and our first without random sickness--oh, and also that we will stay more than 10 minutes this time.
