Pre-K No More

Luke will never again be in Prick-ay, as he calls it. Today he graduated in perhaps the cutest graduation ceremony ever. On the way to the ceremony I got a little sentimental... thinking about the end of preschool, then high school, then college, then him getting married, and then him having a kid that graduates from prick-ay. Ridiculous, I know! At least I got that out of the way in the car so I could watch his performance through non-teary eyes.

After the performance we got a portfolio filled with little samplings of his work over the past year. My favorite page had the heading, "What does Valentine's Day mean to you?" Luke's response was, "It means how much you love each other. You give a little present to someone you love."

Afterwards, we celebrated at a place called The Jungle. It's basically a huge tunnel/ball-pit place and the worst nightmare of a 6'4" dad. Oh, and it probably hasn't been cleaned in 10 years. Matt fears we will all come down with the stomach flu right before our vacation.
But, it was Lukie's day-- and what the graduate wants, he gets!
Good job Luke!

Me, According to Luke

Luke doesn't draw many things, but he has drawn me a few times.
Here I am:

My favorite detail is my ponytail (or, the line coming out of the side of my head). He has included it since his first rendition of me. No hands or feet yet, but the ponytail is a big enough characteristic that it makes the cut. It's my fifth limb, I guess.

And, GUESS WHAT? This little artist is graduating from Pre-K tomorrow. There will be lots of pomp and lots of circumstance, and it will all be posted soon.

Oh, Brother!

Ok, so we are showing our house to potential renters, and the first couple came over tonight. I'll have you know that I spent the entire afternoon cleaning and staging the place and mostly trying to hide all evidence (and aroma) of the dang cats. So, everything is going well and then they decide to step outside into the back yard. Then it happened... Luke YELLS, "WATCH OUT! THERE'S TONS OF CAT POO OVER THERE!"

Nice.

My Day

Mother's Day...
It started with this:

Then came the gift of 2 magazines PLUS time to sit on the couch and read them (now, that's a gift!)

Lastly, a pre-church Mother's Day photo to remember the day:

Happy Mother's Day

Lots of love to my mom and all other moms today!

Motorcycle Guy

From underneath the bucket came the words, "I'm a motorcycle guy!!!"

Speaking of "guys," in Lance's world certain jobs are for guys only. These jobs are anything and everything to do with vehicles, airplanes, space shuttles (and space in general), tractors, lawn mowers, and anything else with wheels or propellers. Don't even joke about the trash truck lady or the lady astronaut. He will swiftly put you in your place. I don't know where he gets this attitude. Matt regularly does laundry and I mow the lawn here and there. I even mowed this morning, although Lance reminded me (about 40 times) that it is daddy's lawnmower. He never tells Matt that it's mommy's laundry basket-- what gives?

The Wait is Over!

After a very long and rainy winter, the PVCs are back! Today the big orange bucket-o- elbow joints reentered our lives. Luke took inventory, hosed everything off, and got started on his "water park." He's been designing it in thought for a couple of months and was super excited to put his ideas to the test. He worked on it all day, twisting and tweaking things, and it turned out awesome. Oh happy day!
