We went back to Discovery Kingdom today and had more luck with the butterflies. Luke really and truly has a gift with these little creatures. When you walk through the door they tell you not to touch any of the butterflies, but they seem to like landing on him. He even rescued one that was on the ground, and was the same color as the ground, by gently putting it onto a flower. At the same time the rescue was happening, Lance got busted for picking flowers. Poor guy, he's not so good at the "gentle" thing yet.
