Scientopia

I took the kids to a little science center in downtown Napa this morning. It was my first time in downtown Napa, which was really cute and only 30 minutes away. I never know how things are going to go on outings like these when I'm by myself, but they loved it and we stayed almost 3 hours.

Lance loved grocery shopping and mailing letters. Luke loved the blower and the digging pit, which was filled with little pieces of rubber. He even let me bury him up to his neck. I enjoyed playing in that pit of rubber! Luckily I was able to keep him from the sprinkler pipes until the end. I knew he would play with them the whole time if he saw them first. He got SO excited when he finally saw them. They even had some 4-way connector pieces that he'd never seen before. 4-way connector pieces are now on the birthday list. Fun times for all!

Home Movies

Today was great. I finally purged my video camera that I bought a year ago. I've been banging my head against the wall for six months trying to get it to work with our computer. Luckily I found out about the Share Station, which is a DVD burner that connects right to the camera-- no computer needed. So, I burned all of 2008 onto two DVDs. Super fast, super easy. No head banging or curse words. L&L and I watched for about an hour and I loved all of the videos. I almost cried watching Lance take his first steps. There's no stopping me now!

Dads

Happy Father's Day to my dad, Matt, and all the other dads I know. To my dad, thanks for teaching me (among other things) to swim, ride a bike, hit a ball, drive a stick shift, and balance a checkbook. I am also grateful for every splinter you removed and loose tooth you pulled. Matt, I'm so glad you have enough energy to carry two kids up a mountain and then come home and build Tinker Toy windmills. I get tired just typing that. Have a great day, Dads!

The Automatic Water Regulator Drip System

End of Week 2

Luke did NOT cry at preschool today! Yesterday he told me he wouldn't cry today, and he was a man of his word. He thought about it for just a second, and then the starfish craft caught his eye. I now have this jewel for my bathroom:
